Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything
A companion guide to standard DnD rules that allows for additional customizations, character classes, weapons, items, and rule adjustments that you can incorporate (pending your DM’s approval) to your playing of DnD.
General Character Options
Chapter 1 enhances the standard DnD rules regarding characters with the following leniencies:
- You can change the standard Race’s Ability Score Improvement based on your personal character’s background to allow for increasing a different Ability than normally indicated
- E.g., Instead of a Dwarf always getting a Constitution buff, you could say that it’s actually Intelligence because your specific Dwarf adventurer spends his days in libraries.
- The book allows for similar changes to your known languages, personality traits, and proficiencies (see the Proficiency Swap table) in order to try to give you more flexibility in creating characters
- You can also consider changing your skill proficiency or even your entire subclass, though it should be based on a specific event that reasonably could cause your character to re-class, and you have to run it by your DM.
