Recipe: Simple Syrup

Recipe for a simple syrup, a common ingredient in some nonalcoholic cocktails, taken from The Mocktail Club

Ingredients

Makes about 1 1/2 cups of syrup

Steps

  1. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes, until the sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally
  4. Turn off heat and let cool
  5. Transfer to a mason jar or other airtight container
  6. Store in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks
